Spectrum Wireless Principal Engineer II in Greenwood Village, Colorado
TITLE: Wireless Principal Engineer II
LOCATION: Englewood, CO
JOB SUMMARY: Build, test, document, and troubleshoot wireless mobility architectures to enable new services for Charter’s Spectrum Mobile product. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement mobility infrastructure, software solutions, and related applications in a lab environment to enable testing of new wireless products and for solutions to be deployed in production customer facing environments. Document infrastructure changes in a centralized infrastructure database to keep track of lab modifications. Document, modify, and implement mobility services, including 4G evolved packet core and 5G standalone core for the lab environment. Document, modify, and implement Wi-Fi services, including Wi-Fi access points, Wi-Fi controllers, and other Wi-Fi related software functions in a lab environment. Participate and lead technical working sessions from a mobility infrastructure perspective. Introduce new wireless solutions to the
company’s development, test, and production groups. Provide mobility infrastructure technical guidance for troubleshooting working sessions when a platform anomaly is detected in a lab and production environment. Oversee Wireless Technology mobility lab infrastructures. Create new architecture to enable customer value added services in production environments. Deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting 3GPP, 4GLTE, or 5G-based network devices, as well as Enterprise Wi-Fi architectures, including access point, Controller, and support systems. Documenting and articulating complex wireless architectures. Supporting container-based technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, as well as virtualization technologies, including VMWare and vSphere. Utilizing 802.11 Wi-Fi protocol layer functions, 802.1x authentication, Hotspot 2.0, or experience with Wi-Fi 5/6 access technologies.
EDUCATION/
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. 10 years of experience in designing, integrating, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting 3GPP, 4GLTE, or 5G-based network devices; deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Enterprise Wi-Fi architectures, including access point, Controller, and supporting systems; documenting and articulating complex wireless architectures; and, utilizing 802.11 Wi-Fi protocol layer functions, 802.1x authentication, Hotspot 2.0, or experience with Wi-Fi 5/6 access technologies. 8 years of experience utilizing container-based technologies, including Docker or Kubernetes, or Virtualization technologies, including VMWare or vSphere..
Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $139838 per year.

The pay for this position has a salary range of$139,838.00 to $220,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
