The City of Gresham has an exciting opportunity for Parks Ambassadors working with Gresham Police to monitor and report on activities within City Parks. This is a part-time, temporary position with a duration of less than six months. Work is expected to begin in July 2024 and run through October 2024. Specific hours will be coordinated with Police supervision and include weekends. This position will work 15-25 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits other than sick leave as required by Oregon state law. What you will get to do: As a Parks Ambassador, you will be responsible for monitoring assigned City Parks and serve as an ambassador to the patrons of the parks. You will help identify issues of concern, check park picnic permits, report any vandalism or graffiti and contact City resources for appropriate response. These positions will not perform the duties of sworn police officers, but will observe, listen and report. Parks Ambassadors are public relations representatives for the City of Gresham. Qualities we are looking for: \' Good communication skills \' Effective interpersonal skills \' Strong moral character \' Sound judgement \' Sense of ethics \' Respect for others \' Teamwork \' Passion for public service \' Reliable \' Honest and trustworthy Minimum qualifications: \' Must be 18 years of age or more \' High school diploma or G.E.D. \' Valid drivers license \' Good driving record (as defined by our driving matrix below) \' Clean criminal history (no convictions, or arrests) Driving Matrix: You will be disqualified from this process if you possess any of the following driving infractions: \' A major traffic offense or accident (fault established as yours) that results in death or major injury. \' Driving under the influence (DUI) offense within the last 5 years. \' Have more than 3 moving violations within a 3-year period or more than 2 within a one- year period. \' Have more than 2 accidents (fault was established as yours) within a 3-year period.
