The City of Gresham is seeking a collaborative, team oriented, public servant to serve as our Water Operations Superintendent. What you will get to do: \' Manage all planned and unplanned repair and maintenance of all assets and operations related development of the CIP. \' Ensure all regulatory compliance including EPA Safe Drinking Water Act, Oregon Health Authority, OSHA and Backflow Program. \' As the Direct Responsible person in Charge (DRC), represent and manage emergency preparedness and response. \' Mentor and ensure staff has the appropriate training to retain certifications. \' Respond to emergency calls as well as daily customer calls. \' Ensure all PPE and training is accounted for. Ensure and budget for all training needs and regulatory sampling and compliance. \' Manage operations budget, forecast with analyst, maintain regular meetings and plan from year to year maintaining system needs and upcoming budget impacts. \' Approve and code all purchase, equipment, goods, services, materials, outsourced services. \' Work on special items, contract development for goods and services, and manage contract and project as operations needs. \' Work with budget, and fleet services to forecast and prepare for large purchases and needs. \' In collaboration with the Water Division Manager, will develop the annual operating budget for the Water Division. This includes the expenditures for the wholesale purchase of water from the City of Portland, the Wellfield Protection Program, repair and maintenance of city infrastructure, field staff equipment including tools and vehicles, training for operations staff and salary and benefits for the Water Operations staff. This budget is currently about \$7M annually. \' Provide subject matter expertise for cross-departmental operational needs. \' Act as Operations ROM for one quarter each year. \' Interact as expert with utility billing/meter tasks, GIS mapping needs, IT needs, development and engineering needs, with all other adjacent government agencies and municipalities, finance and fleet, facilities maintenance. \' Work with risk management related to all tort claims related to water operations. \' Act as the City representative in public interactions including resolving customer complaints, attending meetings with consultants and other public agencies and occasional meetings with neighborhood associations. \' Be an active member of recognized drinking water organizations such as the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Oregon Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (ORWARN). Involvement in these organizations may lead to committee activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \' Valid Driver\'s License \' Good driving record (according to our driving matrix) \' Associate\'s degree \' Three (3) to six (6) years of related experience in water system management \' Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Water Distribution Level IV Certification \' Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Cross Connection Specialist Certification Any combination of qualifying education, training, and/or experience equivalent to Five (5) to Eight (8) years will be considered.
