Current Positions Available >> Traveling Superintendent Traveling Superintendent Summary Title:Traveling Superintendent ID:1382 Location:Columbus Office Description Position Summary: The Traveling Superintendent will travel extensively for the company and its strategic clients. Travel requirements will be dictated by the size and length of the project. While traveling, this position will be provided with regular return trips home and per diem living expense reimbursement. Travel costs are also paid for by the company. This position must be able to work independently and be able to coordinate all aspects of the project with support from the Project Manager. Assists with on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site and supervises the day-to-day operations of work performed including work performed by sub-contracted vendors Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Also responsible for coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: In addition to following CK's values, policies and procedures, the primary responsibilities of this position currently include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintain project safety in accordance with the Company's Safety Policies and Procedures. Ensure subcontractor compliance with all Company safety requirements - articulate the standards, hold the subcontractors accountable and enforce the Policies and Procedures. Identify and manage safety hazards related to the general public. Remain current with OSHA 30-hour safety training and all other safety-specific training required for the job and specified by the Company Lead Operational Hazard Analysis (OHA) planning meetings as needed to ensure high-risk tasks are performed in the safest manner possible. Lead LEAN construction practices Implement Company policies for maintaining a secure job site. Construct the project in accordance with the plans, specifications and standard work practices. Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure all required paperwork and documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner Maintain and secure all tools, equipment, and materials on the job site Organize site logistics and ensure a clean, safe, and professional worksite Ensure that all lay out is accurate and that information is conveyed in a timely manner to all trades being performed Make recommendations to project team for design or other changes that will enhance the quality of the project, reduce operating costs, improve on the schedule, or decrease construction costs Supervise trade workers assigned to the project Provide liaison between field engineering, estimating, and trades to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications Lead others in a way that aligns with the culture and core values of CK Utilize project technology effectively to support project management; review and update documents in Excel, Word, Bluebeam, etc. Plan work schedule, determining manpower levels, materials quantities, equipment requirements, etc. Monitor work performance and productivity of trades to ensure project policies, procedures, budgets, safety requirements, etc. are maintained Maintain schedule to avoid unnecessary overtime and extended general conditions Ensure that trade time cards are completed to accurately reflect hours worked Input and/or verify accurate production unit quantities via tracking software Report equipment hours, weekly, for all equipment utilized during the past week Coordinate the delivery, storage and efficien
