Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Unity and Belonging - Student Success Initiatives serves as a member of the Multicultural Center's team. The Assistant Director is primarily responsible for

pre-professional student employment supervision, student-facing educational experiences development including training, seminars, sessions, workshops, and events, and management of our new Multifaith Center. Secondarily they are responsible for departmental program assessment, and management of the lounge and study space service of the Multicultural Center.

The Assistant Director works alongside the Director of Unity and Belonging to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, justice plus support for students are effective and efficient. This includes but is not limited to student organization advisement, professional consultation, and budgetary management.

Required Duties:

The Assistant Director of Unity and Belonging must perform the following duties: Educational Experiences Service: Assist with the development of sessions, workshops, webinars, and training centered on DEIJ+ for the student population. Serve as the primary facilitator of the educational experiences service. Develop and coordinate campus events to promote awareness of the various cultures of the University as well as around the world. Assist the Director with marketing and communication. Pre-professional Supervision: Develop the procedure for hiring and supervising pre-professional student employees. Hire and supervise pre-professional staff through a student-centered and inclusive framework of practice. Ensure that each pre-professional position is developed with underpinnings of DEIJ+. Evaluate pre-professional staff performance. Assessment and Data Management: Use assessment strategies to develop relevant assessments for the services of the Multicultural Center. Manage data collection, analyses, and reporting of assessment information to the Director. Collaborate with Divisional leaders to innovate assessment approaches. Multifaith Center: Provide management of the Multifaith Center. Serve as the primary coordinator and data analyst of space utilization for the Center. Manage all work orders, reservations, and events associated with the Center. Provide annual and regular reports to the Director regarding assessment of the Center. Student Support Initiatives: Assist the Director with managing student support initiatives centered on the recruitment and retention of underrepresented, marginalized, and minoritized students. Initiatives may consist of collaborations with other departments on and off campus, strategic priorities, and the development of services. Budget and Finance: Assist the Director with managing the departmental budget. Manage supplemental budgets assigned by the Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor s Degree Experience working with and supporting underrepresented populations. Experience in program development and facilitation. Evidence of working knowledge in various computer applications such as Microsoft products.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Master s Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Cultural Studies, or other closely related field. Conversational fluency in a language other than English, preferably Spanish. Experience working in higher education and student development. Experience with program assessment and student learning outcomes evaluation.
