Oshkosh Corporation Sales Management Trainee in Hagerstown, Maryland

The role of Sales Trainee is the starting point of a career adventure working within JLG’s North American Field Sales team. This role has a long and storied history in the organization, with some of our most senior leadership starting their careers as Trainees at JLG. The goal of the role is to equip the candidate with all the skills, knowledge and relationships necessary to act as an advocate for our customers. The successful candidate will spend time rotating through job functions in various departments including Inside Sales, Field Aftermarket and Whole goods sales, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, and Manufacturing. The role will involve travel (25-35%) to visit and build relationships with customers.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Understand and learn all areas of JLG sales team through a rotational program.

  • Work with the inside sales team to enter orders, and field customer calls.

  • Act as an inter-department liaison coordinating essential company activities on behalf of the sales team.

  • Partner with sales team members to ensure alignment on customer and regional needs or trends.

  • Partner with sales representatives to enter customer information and configure machines that meet customer’s current and future demands.

  • Analyze regional sales and order book entries to provide credible input for the forecasting process.

  • Handle certain administrative tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in business or a related field

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a manufacturing industry.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team structured environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.

  • Strong customer focus and effective use of a consultative approach.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
