LifePoint Health Physicians Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - Express Care in Hancock, Michigan
UP Health System-Portage in Hancock, Michigan invites qualified Board Certified Advanced Practice Providers to join our Express Care team. Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants to be considered.

Essential Functions: • 2 Express Care/Walk-In locations: Houghton and Calumet
• Open hours of operation 9a-6p seven days a week (9a-2p holidays)
• 1 APP to provide 10-hour coverage daily per site
• 100% Outpatient
• Collegial and supportive practice environment
• Present day volumes average 25 in Houghton and 15 in Calumet
• No after-hours call
• Clinic EMR: Athena
• Waived testing performed, Covid antigen testing, Covid swabbing for PCR, strep, RSV, Influenza A & B, Urine dips and Urine hCG.
• Vaccines provided: Tetanus and Influenza.
• Suturing of simple wounds.
• Calumet offers Occupational Health and X-ray services.
• Staffed with:
o Houghton: 1 Patient Service Representative and 1 Clinical staff member (MA/CMA/LPN) 7 days a week. o Calumet: 1 Patient Service Representative Monday-Friday with 1 Clinical staff member (MA); MA performs MA/PSR role on Saturday and Sunday.
About the Practices: Houghton: Provider is assigned to two rooms. Clinical staff assist with rooming and completing waived POC testing. Providers should be comfortable seeing on average 30 patients per day. Co-located with UP Health System – Portage Fitness Center.
Calumet: Provider is assigned to two rooms. Clinical staff assist with rooming and completing waived POC testing. Providers should be comfortable seeing on average 15 patients per day. Co-located with UP Health System – Physical Therapy clinic and Federally Qualified Health Center.
Position Requirements: Master’s degree required Current MI Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant licensure required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (available upon hire) Annual influenza vaccination or declination required
Position Details: 0.9 FTE (full-time, 6 – 10 hour shifts per pay period, except when covering time off) 10 hours shifts Weekends and some Holidays rotate Primarily Houghton location
