Job Description

The opportunity

The Investment Specialist will be an integral part of the Investment Function and will be responsible for identifying and analyzing investment opportunities, as well as preparing the necessary procedures for investment implementation including post trade management. The job holder will report directly to the Head of Investment.

Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Advise the Head of Investment in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities to meet the assigned investment objectives.

Governance

  • Ensure that all investment activities comply with internal regulations and industry norms within MVI Life.

  • Identify and report key risks associated with investment activities.

Operational

  1. Perform investment activities under the management of the Head of Investment, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, internal policies, and procedures:
  • Identify investment opportunities aligned with the Company's strategic needs.

  • Analyze investment opportunities and prepare Investment Proposals.

  • Coordinate with related departments to implement approved investment proposals.

  • Regularly report to stakeholders or as per ad-hoc requests.

  1. Portfolio management:
  • Manage cash inflow (coupon/interest, principal) to ensure alignment with accrued figures.

  • Update existing portfolio to comply with current regulation and Company’s procedures (amortization/accrued interest, floating coupon bonds…to reconcile with data recorded by the Finance team)

  1. Work with the Regional Office on monthly transactions and to ensure all transactions are recorded timely.

  2. Take responsibility for risk management, including:

  • Supporting the Head of Investment in developing the Company's Investment Policy, procedures, and processes.

  • Controlling approved credit limit to ensure no active breach.

  • Generating risk assessment reports including regular and Ad hoc Credit Analysis Memos

  1. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of Investment.

What we are looking for

    • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Banking, or Investment.- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.- Relevant certifications or licenses (CFA, Fund Management Certificate) is a plus.- In-depth knowledge of economics, banking, and investment.- Strong analytical and investment evaluation skills.- Proficiency in risk and quantitative analysis.- Proficient in relevant computer software.- Excellent command of written and spoken Vietnamese and English.- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.- 4-6 years of experience in investment on banking/insurance/securities sectors.- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
