DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Nurse Administrator provides clinical and training consultation to the leadership and staff at the bureau's six veterans homes. You will have a direct influence on the quality of care provided to our resident veterans and their spouses by ensuring that clinical staff possess the clinical and resident care competencies required to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of our residents. You will collaborate directly with the Registered Nurse Instructors in your assigned facilities to design, develop, deliver, and manage skills and competency-focused training and education.

The Bureau of Veterans Homes administers six long-term care facilities for honorably discharged veterans and their spouses. We provide quality residential care to enhance or maintain our residents health. We are the long-term care provider of choice for Pennsylvania's veterans.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (7.5 hours/day; 37.5 hours/week) Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch. The work location will be determined from one of the following, based on preference of selected candidate: Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home, 560 E. Third Street, Erie, PA 16512 (Erie County) Southwestern Veterans' Center, 7060 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 (Allegheny County) Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of professional nursing experience, including two years in an administrative, supervisory, consultative, or quality assurance capacity, and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nurse education, healthcare administration, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes two years of professional nursing in an administrative, supervisory, consultative, or quality assurance capacity.

Special Requirements: This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
