Eversource Energy Associate Designer, Engineering (Hybrid) in Hartford, Connecticut
Provides support to the department with drafting and design support including the management of drawings and standardized bills of material (BOM’s). Will be called upon to perform engineering analysis under the supervision of and review of an engineer.
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full time in the office.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in the development or modification of detailed designs using conventional or computer-aided techniques for incorporation on engineering drawings to support the department.
- Receives direction from Engineering staff to assist in developing detailed design criteria and final design projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assists in the preparation of conceptual designs and sketches based on field survey, project instructions, and engineering criteria supplied by project/discipline engineers, field or Drafting personnel.
- Assists in the development of design/drafting standards in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Assists in providing drafting and design services to Engineering, Operations and field upon request to assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local license or planning boards submittals and other special assignments.
- Identifies, retrieves and files drawings or documents associated with specific assignments and in accordance with the guidelines of the Document Control System.
- Assists in the development or updating of indices, lists, schedules, or databases as necessary.
Technical Knowledge:
- Drafting and design skills sufficient to develop high quality products, both manually and using computer-aided technology
- Ability to learn and apply appropriate discipline, industry and departmental design/drafting standards, codes, practices, and procedures
- General knowledge of any of the following: electrical systems and components; mechanical systems and components; civil, structural, and architectural components; land management; survey or cartography
Education:
- Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Technology with a specialization is Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical, Survey or Land Management Technology, or the equivalent in combined education and directly related experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $70,610 to $78,450, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
