Our Client, a Leading Pet Food Manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to join their growing team in Hartwell, GA!

As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will play a crucial role in planning, conducting, and coordinating packaging process engineering functions. Your expertise will cover all aspects of packaging equipment, from primary packaging through secondary packaging and process unit operations. You'll apply your knowledge to the production of wet and dry pet foods, pet treats, and cat litter. Key responsibilities include:

Job Title: Senior Packaging Engineer

Location: Hartwell, GA (100% on-site position)

Pay Range: $75-80/hr

What’s the Job?

  • Lead secondary packaging development for Packing Line 3 products.

  • Select and implement the right equipment technologies to meet production needs.

  • Partner with internal and external teams on capital projects.

  • Provide technical expertise for continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage projects, ensuring smooth equipment integration and operation.

  • Contribute to department standards and best practices.

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.

  • Strong plus: OHSA, Project Management (e.g., PMP/PMI), LEAN Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Green/Black Belt).

  • MUST HAVE: 5+ years of packaging equipment engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment.

  • Proficiency in Project Portfolio Management tools (PPM e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), Layout software (e.g., AutoCAD, PackML), and Process Flow (e.g., Visio).

  • Up to 30% travel to equipment suppliers and construction sites for field data gathering, scope development, project reviews, and system FAT.
