Responsibilities Provides critical Service Level I and II support as the IT subject matter expert within the IT Directorate, Field Services Division supporting agency operations in an assigned DCMA region/sector. Serves as senior technical specialist within the assigned organization providing technical project management and assistance in the planning, delivery, and management of customer IT support services. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the local infrastructure, network and system administration, desktop hardware, software, peripherals and communication devices. Provides Global Service Center (GSC) support to maintain service level objectives; maintains up to date knowledge of Enterprise system and network status to facilitate effective resolution to customer issues. Manages the LCM program within the assigned org developing hardware requirements, plans and schedules for the deployment, distribution, installation, and disposal of new, modified and legacy infrastructure, hardware, operating systems, and software. Serves as the property custodian for the assigned organization managing all property transactions including hand receipts, equipment transfers, and annual physical inventories. Performs Information Assurance Technical Level II duties. Coordinates the day-to-day and emergency infrastructure, system, desktop and information assurance problems. Serves as the local SME to develop, test and deploy specific packages, patches, and upgrades to maintain the Enterprise's Information Assurance posture. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (Network/CustSpt), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Consulting with customers to identify requirements, develop solutions and deliver products and services. Applying IT principles, methods, and best business practices in order to provide guidance, operational, and technical end-user computer support to resolve customer issues. Managing an IT life cycle management program to maintain the most current hardware and software within the Enterprise. Troubleshooting and performing system diagnostics to develop solutions to resolve complex IT issues, recover failed systems and maintain the Information Assurance posture. AND B. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
