WASATCH COUNTY Environmental Health Scientist I or II in HEBER CITY, Utah
Investigates complaints of unsanitary conditions in food facilities including insects, food poisoning, and poor hygiene. Writes orders and follows up to ensure health code compliance.
Inspects restaurants and food establishments in assigned areas using food inspection forms for evaluation.
Performs pre-opening inspections and provides assistance in sanitation process planning and building food establishments.
Oversees soil tests to determine soil suitability for on-site waste water treatment systems.
Consults on installation of septic systems and inspects them for correct installation.
Inspects public and individual drinking water systems including sources, storage, distribution systems, pump houses, collection boxes, etc.
Conducts sanitary surveys of drinking water systems as required.
Collects water samples and tests chemical balance for swimming pools as required.
Inspects and responds to complaints for recreation sites, mobile homes, tanning salons, tattooing and body piercing/adornment shops, and waste oil collection sites for sanitation and health code compliance.
Attends meetings and seminars to continually update technical knowledge relating to assigned program.
Testifies as an expert witness in court as required.
