JOB SUMMARY

As a Cashier, you are a member of the Tarbell Management Group Retail Department. You will conduct business according to the details of your job description and the employee manual, making the customer our # 1 priority. As a member of the TMG team you will be required to live and breathe our mission to seize opportunity, lead with passion and be the absolute best. This position will provide full service to our customers in a responsible manner.

Customer Service

  • Ensuring customer service standards are being met at all times, assist customers with specific informational and service needs with an extremely high emphasis on hospitality.

  • Teamwork is an essential part of providing outstanding customer service, maintaining the presentation of the store and exterior, all members of our staff are expected to work together to ensure that every customer experience is the best.

  • Assist all customers with their questions/complaints/concerns as it relates to products and or services. Inform members of management pertaining these customer questions/complaints/concerns in a timely manner.

  • Follow convenience store policies and procedures at all times.

    Personal Appearance & Professionalism

    Cleanliness of Store

  • Ensuring situational awareness is being displayed at all times.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the stores according to brand standards.

  • Receive, stock and clean inventory and inventory shelving.

  • Engage in the daily safety checklist to ensure our customers and employees are not presented with any hazards to health or life.

    Cash Handling

  • Responsible for reconciliation of your daily paperwork and adhere to all cash handling procedures and policies.

    Product Knowledge

  • Maintain a working knowledge and follow all SOP guidelines set forth by management.

  • Perform other related duties and activities as requested by the Executive Team, District Manager, and/or Store Management Team.

    Safety Standards

  • Adheres to all safety standards, preventing common workplace accidents including slips and falls, cuts, burns and uses proper lifting techniques.

  • Properly uses safety equipment, adheres to fire prevention policies and proper storage of chemicals/cleaning supplies.

  • Adheres to security policies with regards to keeping company assets secured and following of cash handling policies.

    Cleaning Standards

  • Adheres to cleanliness standards to include exterior and interior of buildings.

  • This includes the parking lot, lights, canopy, fuel island, garbage cans, windows/doors, sidewalk, landscaping, dumpster areas, walls, floors, walls/corners/ceilings, bulletin boards, gondolas, displays/racks, restrooms, counter area, food service area, fountain/roller grill/condiment areas, storage areas, coolers, cooler doors, freezer and soda area.

    Merchandising Standards

  • Adheres to merchandising standards to include use of proper displays, following planograms, having the correct signage, following promotions, and use of proper code dates.

    Customer Service Standards

  • Has a positive attitude, has a friendly demeanor, greeting all customers with a smile and please/thank yous.

  • Follows appearance standards and acts with a sense of urgency.

  • Is knowledgeable about the products and services we offer.

    BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of employees and customers, both directly, and over the telephone.

  • Must consistently represent the Tim Hortons and TMG in a positive manner.

  • Must be respectful of the professional boundaries (no drama).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification; OR currently enrolled in High School/GED Program.

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • Reliability and ability to work flexible hours.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adhere to policies/procedures/standards (written and oral).

  • Able to operate effectively as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to make correct change (basic mathematical skills).

    Postural & Physical Demand Requirements

  • Frequent reaching above waist, chest and shoulder level as well as below waist level

  • Frequent to continuous need for manual dexterity of both hands (handling, gripping, fine finger controls etc,)

  • Continuous standing on tiled surfaces for all tasks

  • Frequent hip flexion while walking for all tasks

  • Frequent lifting of boxes of supplies / Products weighing from <5 – 50 lbs vertically from floor to knuckle height

  • Occasional lifting of milk crates weighing between 5 – 30 lbs vertically from floor to knuckle height, knuckle to shoulder height or from fridge to counter height

  • Frequent exposure to cold/ below freezing and high heat temperatures.
