Zebra Technologies Corporation Advanced Software Engineer in Holtsville, New York

Zebra Technologies Corporation. Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation. Work is accomplished without considerable direction. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Develops software for Android at all layers of the software stack, including bootloader, Linux kernel, Android framework, and applications. Write Android kernel, framework side code in Qualcomm platforms such as SDM660, QC6490, QC4490, respectively. Analyze requirements for Enterprise Mobile Devices and providing feedback on product requirement documents relating to peripherals, use cases and features to be supported. Develop and debug software for enterprise mobile devices peripherals that utilize USB interface to operate and communicate with the host mobile device. Read datasheets, schematics and work with electrical engineers. Define the hardware and software interfaces and needs in the factory towards bring up of software. Work with electrical engineers to develop thermal mitigation plan through software implementation. Work in AGILE SCRUM and SAFe based environment with propensity for constant changes to requirements, absorb ambiguous requirements and provide clarity iteratively. Use GIT, GERRIT following the software process development prescribed to provide inputs for improvements to process. Establishes requirements for highly complex software design projects and may lead a team responsible for establishing requirements. Ensure correct features are incorporated first in the projects. Follows through on all in process and final inspection activities. Drives code review of projects. Develops and applies technical and quality improvements. Creates new programs, technologies and solutions based on novel or unique ideas. Ensures new ideas and methodologies are documented for use by software teams. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related and 6 years of experience required. In lieu of a Master's degree and 6 years of experience, will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related and 8 years of experience. Salary: $169,229.00-$178,600.00. Salary offered will vary w/in range based on variety of factors. All Zebra roles eligible for cash incentive programs. Telecommuting may be permitted.
