Emerson Buyer Planner in Houston, Texas

If you are a Buyer/Planner looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! The RTS Production Buyer Planner will coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation at the Crossridge Facility. This is a unique role to support the RTS product line’s growth plan, manage the planning and buying to reduce customer lead times, collaborate cross functionally to best support customer deliveries and inventory goals.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead level loading of orders, in line with Master Scheduling and production goals.

  • Issue work orders and purchase orders as required to support customers and production continuance without interruptions or misses in takt rates.

  • Manage ERP system maintenance and exception messages to create, reschedule and/or cancel work orders and purchases orders with other buyers.

  • Coordinate, collaborates and take decisive actions to lead the execution of production plans, work orders and purchase orders to meet production goal. This includes Crossridge Production and Drop Ship Orders.

  • Leading collaboration between internal team and external suppliers to reduce customers, service levels, inventory, and lead time goals.

  • Responsible for RTS reporting and work order dispatching. Provide guidance and support for shortages and collaborate work order prioritization for execution.

  • Provide leadership and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Support master scheduler in mix analysis of production forecasts for S&OP planning.

  • May perform other duties, including special project, as assigned by management.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering preferred.

  • In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in production scheduling and / or buying in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Time management skills to flex between multiple tasks and projects daily.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to both internal and external customers, including plant leadership.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, including working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • ERP (Oracle or others) knowledge or experience preferred.
