The position

By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be responsible for sourcing, marketing, and trading of physical equity and third party products, with main focus on Distillates in North and South American markets in close cooperation with Global Distillates team.

  • Develop and implement trading strategies, manage pricing exposures based on market views and information and plan and lead negotiations.

  • Trade financial derivates for hedging and optimization of asset optionality.

  • Collaborate with Equinor traders, mid- and back office personnel.

  • Gather and share market information and intelligence of refining and products markets.

  • Work closely with Origination teams to develop long-term export opportunities from North America in line with the Global asset backed trading strategy.

  • Maintain and develop key customer relationships as well as collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Understand and comply with all internal and external governing rules and regulations regarding commercial marketing and trading activities.

  • A minimum of 7 years relevant trading experience and demonstrated solid performance records and successful trading results over time.

  • Extensive experience from commercial negotiations, both short- and long-term business, for storage, pipeline, transportation, and commodity contracts.

  • Commercial attitude with in-depth knowledge of;

  • Price exposure, risk profile, risk/reward, all relevant trading instruments, and platforms.

  • Trading counterparties.

  • Physical oil and market fundamentals and Product qualities, with special focus on distillates.

  • Refining processes and Infrastructure; Midstream - tank, blending and terminal facilities, Shipping & Pipelines.

  • Contractual & GT&C knowledge.

  • Use of trading/IT systems.

  • The ability to establish trading and marketing contacts in the industry through networking, with an extensive existing network in place.

  • Knowledge of or experience with renewable fuels considered a plus.

  • Ability to travel locally and internationally on an occasional basis
