Element Materials Technology Environmental Technician in Houston, Texas

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a 1st shift Environmental Technician whose prime responsibility is to assist the regional environmental field services department in environmental testing and reporting at project sites.

Pay : $22-26/hr

Responsibilities

Physical Requirements:

-Routinely perform tasks in an outdoor, industrial environment, typically at heights ranging from 10 to 200 feet above ground.-Significant out of town travel is required.

-Typical field projects consist of daily work activities ranging from eight up to but not exceeding sixteen hours.

-While performing field tasks, the individual will be asked to perform his work while wearing the required personal protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, mono-goggles, gloves, steel-toed safety shoes, flame retardant clothing and respiratory protection as necessary.

-Field assignments routinely require climbing a ladder and hoisting equipment weighing up to forty pounds to the appropriate sampling platform elevation.

Skills / Qualifications

Education - high school graduate

Experience - minimum experience level: 0-2 years of work experience

Within three months of date of hire, the individual should possess "Transportation Worker Identification Card" (TWIC) credentials.

Demonstrate confidence, competence and an ability to work safely at heights in an industrial environment.

Within two months of the date of hire, the individual should have received training and passed written examinations to show proficiency in the use and aerial lifts, the ability to work safely on a scaffold and the use of supplied air respiratory protection (including fit testing, a physical and pulmonary function test).

Within six months of hire date, the AES environmental technician may should attend and successfully complete both the lecture and field certification portions of an EPA Method 9 visible emissions evaluator course.
