MD Anderson Cancer Center Facilities Services Supervisor - Warehouse in Houston, Texas

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 6am-3pm

Ideal candidate will have warehouse experience.

The primary responsibilities are to perform stock-keeping and clerical work in the receiving, storing, and issuing of widely diversified supplies in a warehouse. Also maintains an orderly flow of supplies and equipment moving in or out of the institution and arranges stored property as to provide for accessibility and ready identification.

Warehouse Operations

Oversees Receiving and Distribution operations of the Warehouse and ensures standardized CMMS data is captured and processed.

Assists with inventory procurement and maintains CMMS inventory PAR levels based on current demand on a monthly basis.

Assists with preventative maintenance materials forecasting according to prescribed procedures on a monthly basis.

Develops and implements warehouse processes/guidelines/best practices. Reviews and updates Warehouse processes annually.

Oversees material flow through the Warehouse including receipts, issuances, transfers, safety/over stock management, request to stock, FM Portal Requests.

Oversees Warehouse pickups/deliveries and creates logistically efficient and effective routes and procedures based on KPMs.

Maintains parts records in current CMMS (Mainsaver/Maximo/PeopleSoft IMF) and ensures compliance with procedures.

Ensure CMMS reports & KPMs (Key Performance Metrics) are monitored, published, and reviewed with staff and customers/stakeholders on a regular basis. Reviews warehouse performance metrics on a weekly basis and allocates resources accordingly in order to meet established expectations and customer demands.

Oversees and administers cycle counts and physical year end annual inventory to match physical stock levels with current CMMS (Mainsaver/Maximo) inventory records.

Inspects the warehouse for cleanliness/safety and delegates action items and tasks to direct reports as needed in order to keep a clean and safe working environment.

Oversees Warehouse handling equipment/vehicles and established and maintains Preventative Maintenance on said equipment.

Oversees the receiving, issuing, and recycling of PTC bronze and acrylic. Maintains accurate records of this material flowing through the Warehouse.

Ensures safe and effective use and management of all assigned vehicles and equipment and ensures usage documents and are submitted to fleet management on a monthly basis.

Establishes and maintains service level agreements with stakeholders and mission areas.

A requirement of this position is to be competent and expected to enter data into mobile devices while working away from your workstation.

Staff Supervision

Directly supervises Warehouse Receiving and Distribution staff in daily operations.

Responsible for meeting with direct reports via monthly 1 on 1s to ensure actions are in place to address any performance and development opportunities, recognition, as well as ongoing feedback to employees.

Receives, considers, and approves requests for time off; manages time and attendance for Warehouse personnel.

Provide clear supervision & communication to employees within unit.

Ensures consistent performance management processes are followed & documented for the staff.

Assists in establishing objectives, policies, & plans for long-range, as well as short-range & on-going operational matters.

Assists in establishing policies, priorities, & schedules.

Responsible for personnel administrative functions (hiring, terminations, coaching / counseling, evaluations, team building).

Ensures all developmental & institutionally required training is completed for assigned staff within departmental deadlines.

Lead efforts that increase employee satisfaction Professional Development of direct reports and departmental staff.

Provides leadership with and participates in the Emergency Response Ride Out Team.

Assist with Budget Management

Makes business decisions that are fiscally responsible, accountable, and justifiable in accordance with institutional and departmental policies and guidelines.

Assists Manager in justification, development, and execution of annual Warehouse budget.

Assist Manager in exercising budgetary control of personnel, maintenance and operations expense, and capital expenditures within acceptable tolerances (+/- 5% of budget)

Assist Manager to ensure adequate resources, to achieve assigned mission, are identified and requested.

Monitors hourly staff to ensure compliance with institutional and departmental timekeeping policy.

Ensures appropriate and judicial use of overtime hours.

Customer Satisfaction

Identify and implement strategies that increase customer satisfaction.

Identify, initiate and implement process improvement opportunities.

Deploy customer satisfaction surveys and develop, communicate action plans as a result.

Other duties as assigned

Depending on demand and staff availability, operate warehouse equipment and vehicles such as forklifts, pallet jacks, box trucks, vans, and cars in order to move receive and distribute material.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of experience in a craft/trade, business operations, or administrative capacity to include two years of lead/supervisory experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
