JandJ Sod Company is looking for a reliable and responsible Short-Haul Driver to join their team.
As a Short-Haul Driver at JandJ Sod Company, you will make short distance deliveries of sod pallets from Van Vleck, Texas to Dallas, Texas. The 270 mile route is about 4 hours one way with the round trip being 8 hours and about 540 miles. A typical shift of a Short-Haul Driver will start at 7:00 a.m. and end around 6:00 p.m., once their route is completed.
Duties:
- Operate company-owned pickup trucks with trailers attached to facilitate shipping and receiving operations of sod grass between farm rental facilities, and commercial/residential properties.
- Perform required inspections before, during, and after each trip.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Operate all MHE or Material Handling Equipment.
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
- Maintain and protect all property and materials in excellent condition.
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
Qualifications:
- No prior experiences needed.
- None of the company-owned vehicles require a Commercial Drivers License to operate.
