MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for aSpacecraft Rendezvous and Proximity Operations GNandC Simulation Engineeronthe JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This position will work on the JETS Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Capture (RPOC) team developing onorbit Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNandC) simulations in support of Commercial Visiting Vehicle missions to the International Space Station (ISS).We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.

As aSpacecraft Rendezvous and Proximity Operations GNandC Simulation Engineeryou will:

• Provide math modeling, simulation development, integration, and testing of commercial visiting vehicle GNandC systems using an established software process
• Perform and document simulation verification and validation (VandV)
• Create and deliver math model and simulation documentation
• Identify team simulation tasks, resolve simulation issues, and assist team members
• Directly interact with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors during technical meetings and working groups
• Perform other duties as required

Here's What You'll Need:

Requisition Qualifications:

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area
• Experience with Linux, C/C++ and/or Python
• Experience with version control systems
• Experience with GNandC principles
• Experience developing, verifying, and validating math models and simulations
• Ability to apply knowledge/experience towards timely completion of technical products and services
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a multi-company team environment
• Strong leadership skills

Requisition Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or a related field) from an ABET accredited engineering school
• Experience with spacecraft rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking
• Experience with orbital mechanics
• Experience with Git/GitLab
• Experience with dynamic simulator development for building flight simulators (e.g., Unreal game engine or similar resources)
• Experience with simulation visualization and graphics packages, particularly JSC EDGE or DOUG
• Experience with JSC TRICK Simulation Environment
• Experience with JEOD (JSC Engineering Orbital Dynamics) modeling package
• Experience with LaTeX
• Experience in product delivery and management utilizing source code management tools
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
• NASA flight operations and procedures

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Gen rally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
