We have an exciting opportunity for a Section Manager - Quality & Compliance to join the team!

The Section Manager - Quality & Compliance will:

  • Report directly to the Manager of the Safety & Mission Assurance Office. Theposition is responsible for the management of approximately 20 people supporting quality engineering, quality assurance and configuration management functional areas for the Amentum Clear Lake Group (CLG)

  • Ensure employees in functional areas follow established procedures and generate finished work products under time and budgetary constraints and ensure products yield the expected outcome and established quality levels. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the JETS contract Quality Policy & Quality Plan.

  • Provide oversight and management, not limited to the following functions:

  • A udit program

  • Configuration and Data Management

  • GIDEP (Government -Industry Data Exchange Program)

  • Receiving Inspection

  • Procurement Quality Engineering

  • Procurement quality assurance services to apply subcontract quality requirements and verifications for all CLG procurements

  • In-Line Quality Inspection

  • Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD) Program

  • Electrical, Electronic & Electro Mechanical (EEE) Program

  • Quality Engineering Drawing Review & Approval

  • Controlled Stamp Authority

  • Maintenance of the Signature Authority List (SAL)

  • Oversight of Approved Supplier List (ASL)

  • Contract compliance with respect to program and project requirements.

  • C ertification of Flight / Controlled hardware

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100D requirements

  • Ensure projects are adequately staffed across multiple projects and functional areas.

  • Communicate project status to senior management.

  • Approve timecards and travel.

  • Document and perform personnel performance reviews.

  • Coordinate issues across multiple JETS organizations which could include source limitations, technical challenges, process breakdowns, etc.

  • Establish a framework and oversight for technical correctness on all work performed by section.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Requisition Qualifications:

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

  • Typically requires a BS degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years related experience, or MS degree and 8 years related experience or Ph.D. and 4 years of related experience. Requires demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior supervisory experience.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others.

  • Must be proactive, responsive, show great initiative, and be a problem solver.

  • In-depth understanding of SAE AS9100D principles and its impact on business processes

  • Experience in the management and execution of internal and external audits.

  • Experience in the focused application of quality requirements for procurement of space flight, machined and hazardous components with an excellent understanding of supply chain management.

Requisition Preferences:

  • Ten (10) years of experience with NASA/JSC flight hardware processes.

  • Experience with implementing and maintaining an AS9100D quality management system

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
