Job Summary:
As a General Construction Worker, your duties will include physical labor, operating hand and power tools, and assisting other crew members in completing projects efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in building structures for residential, business, and construction sites.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects.
- Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a construction worker or similar role.
- Knowledge of basic construction techniques and principles.
- Ability to operate equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work may be performed in outdoor settings, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50-75 pounds on a regular basis.
