Axient LLC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to work remotely and support a team responsible for all cybersecurity activities for on-premise and cloud environments supporting Axient corporate and customer workloads within commercial and DoD communities.

What you will do...

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to these and similar tasks:

  • Assume ownership and accountability of risks, issues, and tasks; and successfully manage and resolve those risks, issues, and tasks to completion

  • Securing public (commercial/government) cloud deployments in Microsoft Azure

  • Deployment and administration of Microsoft Azure cloud-native security tools to meet all security compliance standards

  • Security/validation testing utilizing tools to include vulnerability scanners (Defender for Cloud, Nessus, etc.)

  • Participate in security risk assessments and security architecture reviews

  • Manage Application Security andThreat Modeling processes

  • Security analysis and monitoring (log analytics, vulnerability and compliance scans, traffic monitoring, data security, etc.)

  • Development and application of Offensive or Defensive Security techniques

  • Work with the ISSO and other team members to provide ideas and solutions to ongoing project risks

  • Coordinate directly with Axient infrastructure and service desk teams

Skills you will need...

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree inComputer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar field

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Cybersecurity field (analyst, ISSE, etc.); minimum of 10 years experience in the Cybersecurity field if experience is considered in lieu of degree

  • Minimum of 3 years experience with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIG Compliance

  • Must have an active and transferable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level - this clearance eligibility requires US citizenship. Must be able to maintain the required clearance

  • Minimum Active DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 or IAM Level 1 baseline certification(s) (DOD 8570 Certifications Reference (https://public.cyber.mil/wid/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/) )

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy understanding, security analyst background, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure security tool sets, and experience with NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-53 compliance within commercial and government networks

  • Must possess excellent communication skills (clearly articulate information both orally and in writing) for large government audiences and internal executive teams to include stakeholders, peers, and leadership

  • Customer-service focused at all times with the ability to learn and adapt to changing information and environments

  • Must be able to work well in a team-oriented environment and self-manage tasks and workload

  • Demonstrate exceptional organization and writing skills

  • Must be detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Top-Secret DoD security clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Certifications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure)

  • Current DOD 8570 IAT Level 3 or IAM Level 2 baseline certification(s) (DOD 8570 Certifications Reference (https://public.cyber.mil/wid/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/) )

  • Ability to demonstrate and articulate knowledge, understanding, and hands-on experience with CMMC Process, FedRAMP, eMASS, ATO Process, and policy development

  • Software Security Architecture experience

  • Operating System Certification (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.)

  • Penetration Testing, Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH), or Vulnerability Management

  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning systems

  • DODD 8500.1, DODI 8500.2, and other information assurance (IA) guidance
