Essential
- Effectively teach the approved clinical/lab curriculum to prepare students to become Surgical Technologist.
- Teaching assignments may include alternative delivery systems, such as on-line, ITV, or telecourses.
- Create and maintain a positive educational climate designed to enhance learning and motivation.
- Utilize appropriate teaching methodologies and instructional materials to meet student needs and abilities.
- Participate in continuous evaluation of the Surgical Technologists program.
- Participate in recruitment of students to the program.
- Attend required pertinent activities of faculty, advisory committee and the community college.
- Assume responsibility for organizing and implementing assigned clinical experiences in collaboration with program coordinator and cooperating agencies.
- Participate in the continuous evaluation of students within the framework of the program with input from clinical site personnel.
- Document and evaluate student papers: Provide feedback and academic counseling as necessary to promote successful learning.
- Maintain requirements of accrediting and cooperating agencies and parent organizations; display positive professional and personal qualities.
- Pursue professional development through classes, workshops, etc.
- Contribute to the faculty body of knowledge through exchange of professional information.
- Collaborate cooperatively in the development and revision of the curriculum within the framework of the philosophy of the program.
- Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position,
- Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
- Serve actively on campus committees.
Secondary
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Coordinator, Dean of Instruction, and as listed in the local Master Agreement. This position reports to the Coordinator, Surgical Technologist Program.
