Position Title: Chemical System Engineer

Work Location: Site - INTEC

Shift Schedule: Monday Thursday 4x10s

Salary Grade: 16 Range: Min \$82,355.00 Mid \$102,650.00 Max \$128,170.00

Position Purpose:

INTEC System Engineer: Assigned to non-safety Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs). Maintains knowledge and responsibility for ensuring all technical information in all documents (drawings, documents, operating procedures, system notebooks, etc.) are accurate and thoroughly representative of assigned systems. Reviews and approves all changes to assigned systems, including, but not limited to, temporary modifications, permanent modifications, field changes, procedure changes, drawing changes and any other changes to associated configuration managed documents, ensuring accurate and thorough configuration management is maintained for the systems. Considered the Technical Authority for system design requirements, system performance criteria, design, operation, testing and maintenance.

This system Engineering position is assigned to chemical addition systems with special interest in water treatment and additional focus on corrosion monitoring within a nuclear or chemical processing facility.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience):

Bachelors degree in mechanical or chemical engineering discipline plus 2 to 12 years relevant experience. System engineering, nuclear facility experience desirable.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform System Engineering duties as follows:

  • Maintain a System Engineering notebook (or equivalent electronic file cabinet) which includes SSC vendor technical information, appropriate standards, references, lessons learned, system history of repairs (preventative maintenance feedback), project history, modifications history, operational problems and other unique conditions or circumstances.
  • Support maintenance and operations activities performed on assigned systems.
  • Review and approve Work Orders associated with assigned systems.
  • Support training associated with assigned systems.
  • Review and approve changes to documentation (drawings, procedures, system descriptions, etc.) associated with assigned systems.
  • Perform appropriate actions necessary to comply with approved company level procedures.
  • Ensure proper configuration management for assigned systems, including but not limited to design changes, use-as-is determinations, equivalencies, commercial grade dedication determinations, etc.
  • Attend project meetings and interface with Project teams as the Technical Authority for those projects that interface with assigned systems.
  • Review Preventative Maintenance results and provide PM Justifications as necessary to modify the PM basis for assigned systems.
  • Evaluate system performance, manufacturers recommendations, and product warnings and make recommendations for system upgrades.
  • Provide analysis and make recommendations to Operations when system is suspected of inoperability or degradation.
  • Make recommendations as necessary for improvements in processes or organizational activities.
  • Actively participate in organizational/facility process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain System Health Reports.
  • Support design, installation, and operation of chemical addition systems.
  • Develop reports for system monitoring including but not limited to corrosion, gas monitoring, etc.

Complete assigned projects/tasks as assigned by management.

Maintain training consistent with Individual Training Plan.
