Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a machine operator, you will be responsible for performing minor production set-ups and troubleshooting as needed. You will handle a variety of assembly operations, ensuring the efficient flow of products. You will also prepare the area for the next job, maintain machine uptime by changing out containers quickly and restarting machines, and visually inspect parts before placing them on skids. Additionally, you will assist in daily machine setup duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor production set-ups and troubleshooting as needed.

  • Conduct various assembly operations efficiently to maintain product flow.

  • Prepare the area for the next job as needed.

  • Maintain machine uptime by quickly changing out containers and restarting machines.

  • Visually inspect parts before placing them on skids.

  • Assist in daily machine setup duties.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 35-40 pounds repeatedly for an 8-hour shift.

  • Capability to multitask and follow instructions from Machine OP2 personnel or supervisors.

  • Ability to clean up after oneself and operate equipment safely and productively.

  • Adaptability to fit well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience running 600-1000 parts a day.

  • Automotive experience is a plus, as it helps in understanding paperwork.

Work Environment

This is a production-based shop that bends wire for the automotive industry. Most of the machinery is older and unique, requiring careful handling. The dress code includes steel-toe boots, casual clothing, and safety glasses. The work environment is fast-paced, and attention to safety and detail is paramount.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Independence, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
