Responsibilities

Ascension St. Vincent is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Pediatric Gastroenterology team.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. Vincent to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights:

  • Round in the Hospital, take first call, staff the infusion clinic and see patients in office.

  • See urgent visits in gastro care tube/feeding care

  • Monday through Friday schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.

  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.

  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.

  • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent is part of Indiana’s largest not-for-profit health system with 22 ministries and over 3000 physicians.

• One of Indiana’s largest Level IV NICU with 97 beds staffed 24/7 by Neonatologists.

A majority of these physicians are double board certified in pediatrics and in one of 40 different pediatric specialties and multidisciplinary programs.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Nurse Practitioner specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

One or more of the following:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
