Matchbook Learning K-8 Assistant Principal in Indianapolis, Indiana

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Principal to join our K-8 Charter School team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education, with a passion for coaching and developing teachers. This role is integral to our mission of enhancing the quality of teaching and positively impacting student outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instructional coaching to a caseload of approximately 12 teachers.

  • Collaborate with a team of 3 instructional coaches to support and develop teaching practices across the school.

  • Utilize the Get Better Faster waterfall and RELAY GSE practices and philosophy in coaching sessions.

  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.

  • Develop and implement professional development sessions and workshops.

  • Support teachers in setting and achieving professional goals.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative coaching culture within the school.

  • Track and analyze data to measure the impact of coaching on teacher performance and student achievement.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education.

  • Valid teaching license.

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with demonstrable results.

  • Prior instructional coaching experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Get Better Faster waterfall and RELAY GSE practices and philosophy.

  • RELAY Certification preferred.

  • Experience working with diverse urban populations preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
