Caterpillar’s Global Construction and Infrastructure is hiring a Sales Manager for Retail Products and Services in the Central US district. In this role, you will lead a team comprised of sales, technical support and application experts to achieve sales and services targets in the assigned territory.
What Y ou W ill D o:
Deliver GCI Retail business plan sales and PINS targets for the five dealers in the Central US district
Develop sales and marketing plans and manage merchandising plans to achieve business plan targets for products and services
Ensure customer satisfaction through management of product and commercial issues; Oversee service goodwill spending on all products within the industry segment
Lead the selling opportunities identification, customer satisfaction improvement and business relationship enhancement
Develop an accountability culture with dealers that enable ongoing sales funnel management processes and continuous sales & operations planning discipline
Lead, guide and develop a team of Sales and Technical Support Representatives
Skills Y ou H ave:
Industry knowledge (e x tensive e xperience ) : Thorough knowledge of company products and product applications, merchandising programs, and/or warranty practices and procedures. Can raise coworkers' awareness of industry standards, practices and guidelines.Ability to compare and contrast the latest developments and emerging issues in the industry.
Customer F ocus, Effective C ommunications and Relationship M anagement ( w orking knowledge ) : Deliver on commitmentsvia open communication and on-going feedback/improvement and ability to advise others on creating customer focused environments in various scenarios. Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with internal business partners, dealers and customers.
Decision M aking and Critical T hinkin g (w orking knowledge ) : Ability to articulate decisions based on numerous and often complex data sourced by multiple systems and partners. Sets priorities and guides team in establishing workplans to effectively achieve desired results.
Value S elling and Business Development (b asic understanding ) : Ability to present product, technology or service costs and benefits in reaction to prospect or customer requests. Understand concepts, practices and benefits of value selling and can identify potential markets/Industry groups for the organization's products or services.
Top C andidates W ill A lso H ave:
Prior field experience in sales, sales execution, marketing and/or product support positions
Bachelor’s degree
Proficiency leading projects, preferably across dealer networks
Excellent written and oral communication
Additional Information:
Work location is the Indianapolis, Indiana district office
The role requires the ability to travel up to 50%, mainly in assigned territory

A company vehicle and cell phone stipend are provided for this role
Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
