Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pathologist Assistant to join our Anatomical Pathology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, dissection, and processing of anatomic pathology specimens. Other responsibilities include participation in intraoperative consultations, maintenance of the gross room, and handling various specimen management tasks. The role also involves ensuring accurate specimen identification, accessioning, and requisitioning, maintaining specimen integrity throughout the process. You will be required to maintain a compliant environment, adhering to all lab and hospital procedures, New York State and Joint Commission regulations, HIPAA standards, infection control, and safety guidelines. Additionally, you will describe the gross anatomic features of surgical specimens, providing a general, logical, and factual gross description - CPT -, and load cassettes into tissue processors using the appropriate programs. Part of your role will also include maintaining adequate inventory, managing checklists, and troubleshooting when temperatures are out of range, along with assisting in daily, weekly, and monthly checklist completion.

Work Environment
The successful candidate will be expected to work 8 hours from Monday to Friday
