Ithaca College WEBSITE OPERATIONS MANAGER in Ithaca, New York

Job Summary

Ithaca College’s Marketing Communications division is seeking a versatile Website Operations Manager to help enhance and streamline our web presence. You should be adept at building and maintaining engaging web pages using Drupal or a similar CMS, ensuring adherence to best practices and governance policies. In this role, you'll oversee the website’s ticketing process, conduct thorough testing and reviews, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Reporting to the Director of Digital & Web Strategy, you'll collaborate closely with the marketing team and IT's web developers to create an accessible and compelling web experience that aligns with the college’s goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will approach this role with a forward-thinking mindset, working in partnership with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure our web presence is innovative and user-focused.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create web pages and new sections under the college’s primary website using Drupal, ensuring compliance with best practices and university branding standards.

  • Manage the website’s ticketing process and facilitate team meetings to help ensure projects, bug fixes, and user requests are completed correctly and in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of web development principles, enabling effective collaboration and communication with development teams.

  • Conduct and document reviews and testing for website bug fixes, new features, and design updates.

  • Manage the website content manager network, provide support, and train members on how to setup new web pages and manage content using Drupal CMS.

  • Help develop training materials and maintain knowledgebase documents to assist content managers in managing their web pages.

  • Partner with the asset manager to help utilize DAM capabilities that facilitate integration with the website and all digital platforms, optimizing workflow efficiency.

  • Manage web-related access and maintain associated records for 3rd party services.

  • Compose public-facing release notes and other website updates for content managers and stakeholders.

  • Help maintain documentation and enforce governance policies and website best practices to ensure content is up-to-date, accurate, visually appealing, and in compliance with usability and ADA standards and university branding guidelines.

  • Oversee monitoring of website performance and search optimization testing protocols.

    Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing a website CMS such as Drupal

  • Proficiency in creating web pages using a component-driven, block-based CMS for page layout

  • Knowledge of fundamental web development and design principles, accessibility standards, and best practices

  • Experience managing digital assets and/or a DAM [Digital Asset Management] system

  • Experience training others

  • Strong training, collaboration, organizational, and documentation skills

  • Experience with website performance and search engine optimization tools such as Google Search Console and Lighthouse

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Experience with Drupal

  • Familiarity with design systems

This is a hybrid position in Ithaca, NY.

This position is 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Hiring Range:

$65,000 - $70,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
