ABOUT RQ CONSTRUCTION
We are a well-established and growing commercial design-build company whose primary client is the Department of Defense. We consistently turnout projects rated "outstanding" to satisfied customers. Why? Because the design-build process allows for integration and minimizes conflict more than any other construction delivery system. Through integration of disciplines, including production/material management, safety, quality control, BIM technology, and teamwork we have a proven track record of reducing waste and producing greater value.
Our people are incredible and that is what makes it a great place to work. We value people over all other things. We are committed to the safety, continued training, and career development of our workforce. Our goal is that our employees find meaningful purpose in their work. We respect and value each person's contribution as we work together toward our common goals. While holding each other accountable, we encourage, coach, and support one another. We are committed to excellence and never-ending improvement of all that we do. In order to hire team members who share our commitment to ethics, innovation, safety, and discipline, we have worked hard to become an employer of choice. That means we have to focus on providing stability for people with ongoing assignments to projects, including times between a project completion and the start of a new one.
A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN HR GENERALIST (GTMO)
We are continuing to grow our Operations located at U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cube (GTMO). This position (added for growth) will work daily with corporate HR and Regional division managers/leaders to drive Onboarding, provide first-line Employee Relations support, Compliance, quarterback Total Compensation changes, and more. You will need to develop collaborative working relationships with all division managers/leaders in order to accomplish staffing goals, while also representing RQ to external candidates and our existing team members. Depending on the tasks of the day, one might spend time coordinating onboarding including ensuring hiring managers have a thorough onboarding plan, background checks, drug screens, internal stake-holder communication (IT, Safety, Site staff, Payroll et. al.), in-person or virtual orientation, coordinating new hire data input to HRIS, etc. On another day, one might find him/herself meeting with managers (in-person or virtually) to discuss topics of concern for employees in that region.
