Job Title: Pharmacist Intern (Quality and Regulatory)

Location: Abbott Laboratories, South Africa

Job Type: Internship

Duration: 12 months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist Intern to join our Quality and Regulatory team. As a Pharmacist Intern, you will gain valuable experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working closely with our team to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory submissions (e.g., product registrations, variations, and renewals) to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

  • Support the quality control process, including batch release and product testing, to ensure the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products.

  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and other relevant standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality control, and research and development, to resolve quality and regulatory issues.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in pharmaceutical regulations and guidelines, communicating relevant information to the team and implementing changes as required.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and regulatory processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.

  • Assist in the management of quality and regulatory documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and regulatory submissions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager, including special projects and tasks.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or equivalent.

- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a pharmacist intern.

-NO community Service or Formal work experience – this is a must.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and standards (e.g., GMP, GDP, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)).

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Education or Experience:

  • Pharmacology degrees (registered pharmacist )
