Position Summary Service Delivery Specialists (SDSs) primary duties are to focus on the efficient and accurate completion of work required to ensure customer service once the sale has been made. Provide support to sales staff, engineering, and field services as required. Interact with ACS customers to determine and recommend devices and services that meet the customer needs.

Examples of Job Duties

  • Plans and schedules work, communicates effectively, and maintains effective working relationships with supervisors and customers
  • Recommends, creates and maintains all documentation as it relates to configuration, mapping, processes, service/circuit records, and asset inventories including topologies, administration manuals, standard operating procedures, support contacts, policies, procedures and training plans
  • Maintains and reports accurate documentation on relevant hardware and software life cycle
  • Updates asset management records, including maintenance of component asset inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
  • Provides regular maintenance and refreshes activities necessary to fulfill customer service requests
  • Works with cross functional teams throughout the company to ensure seamless transitions of our products and services to the end customer
  • Qualifies new equipment for use in the network and provides operational training on such equipment to the operational teams within the company
  • Provides technical guidance to technicians for telecommunications facilities construction, turn-up, test and maintenance
  • Assists in Engineering Design and respond to RFPs or non-basic detailed Quote requests
  • Pre and Post Sales Support to Sales, Marketing, and Operations to include working with customers to identify service requirements and optimum network solutions; prepare competitive proposals in response to customer solicitations
  • Maintains and tracks vendor relationships for training certifications, maintenance, and product support
  • Performs ongoing monitoring, analysis, trending and reporting of current utilization levels and estimates future requirements using trends and thresholds for planning upgrades and enhancements
  • Provides recommendations (written reports when appropriate) in his/her area of authority and expertise
  • Performs technical design for network changes to existing or new hardware and software systems required to provide new functionality or enhance current performance and transition these changes to the operational environment
  • Mitigates the adverse impacts of service effecting issues on the business caused by network full or partial outages in the infrastructure and initiates actions to prevent recurrence of such issues
  • Proactively recommends and performs performance optimization activities to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of network resources
  • Performs risk management on a continual basis to ensure the identification and elimination of risks that can affect system availability, performance and reliability
  • Continually monitors the security of the network and ensures best practices have been implemented to thwart vulnerabilities of network attacks
  • Provides recommendations for new technology initiatives, standards and changes to the network or operating environment
  • Ensures that cost-effective solutions are identi ied and implemented before network performance issues occur
  • Provides recommendations to the management team on the viability of capital projects and budget requirements
  • Ensures that project management practices, maintenance guidelines and policies and procedures of the group and company are followed as directed by the standard operating procedures
  • Researches and plans capital projects in cooperation with the Planning Department; prepare engineering specifications to guide the construction and installation of telecom facilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technological field
  • AND 4 years relevant experience
    • Bachelor's Degree can be replaced by relevant experience on a year for year basis

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain a valid Alaska Driver's License
