Tooling Supervisor

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: JUAREZ, NUEVO LEÓN

Opportunity

Position Summary

Manage all the personnel in the Toolroom and supervise all the assigned tasks. Perform all operations in accordance with the specified guidelines and instructions, while exercising safety for himself and others.

Essential Functions

Plan and schedule all machining operations accurately and efficiently.

Coordinate and supervise all the Toolroom operations.

Provide direct supervision for Tool Makers.

Participate in decision making involving hiring, training, and promotions.

Coach, Motivate and council the employees continuously to achieve optimum performance.

Effectively Plan and Manage Men, Machine, Material and Method

Support Fabrication department to achieve productivity by ensuring the tools are in its optimum condition through

Supervise a variety of close and exacting bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, and finish work as required.

Provide work assignments from drawings, sketches, models, specifications, and oral instructions.

Ensure that all required safety requirements are met.

Assure the quality and time element required in each job performed.

Work with local vendors to outsource different services (Tooling design, tooling manufacture and CNC programming services)

Miscellaneous: (All Functions):

Maintain work area: e.g., clean-up and keep materials and equipment in clean working condition, clean as required and at the end of each shift.

Maintain an excellent control of cutting tool inventory.

Complete required documentation necessary to maintain accurate inventory and payroll records.

Measure, understand, act on and report quality and operations information. Understand, act on, and communicate internal and external customer requirements and organization goals.

Assist co-workers as required.

Perform minor maintenance and report abnormalities.

Take initiative to address all process and equipment malfunctions and problems.

Recommend and assist in process and equipment improvements.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements

(Applies to all new hires and current employees changing jobs via a Transfer Request.)

Must achieve a passing score on technical skills test.

Team management of experience toolmaker +10 employees

Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree from an engineering discipline.

Fluent in English is a requirement

History of responsibility for fabrication and debugging of High Pressure Die Casting or Plastic Injection Mold tooling.

A minimum of 5 years of experience with Die casting or injection mold tooling.

A very strong high pressure die cast or plastic injection mold background with emphasis on mold design/manufacturing, tooling cost estimation and mold preventative maintenance is a requirement.

Knowledge of quality control and part print references (GD&T) is also required.

The ability to manage projects and work in a team project environment is required.

Proficiency using a Personal Computer and various programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).

Must be proficient in the use of all measuring instruments to layout, check and verify all dimensions and tolerances. Be capable of using Computerized Maintenance Management software to create work notifications, look-up and order parts, print work orders, and enter time confirmations.

Must have sufficient knowledge of math to make calculations for cutting speeds, feeds, angles, threads, etc.

Must have sound understanding of materials, tooling and tool application.

Minimum 3 years of experience working with tooling (Zinc Die Casting, Injection Molds, Stamping Dies).

Minimum 5 years of experience working Conventional and NC Machines (Vertical & Horizontal Milling, Lathe, Grinding and EDM, etc.).
