Introduction: To lead RF/mmWave design team working on GLOBALFOUNDRIES SOI, SiGe and GaN technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for performing/reviewing schematic/layout level design optimization, characterization, data analysis and packaging of critical RF/mmWave circuit blocks.

Deep experience is needed in RF/mmWave Switches, Power Amplifiers (PAs), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Phase Shifters, Voltage Control Oscillators (VCOs) and Ring Oscillators (ROs). The goal is to optimize the technology and PDK for such applications used by our clients. Having CMOS ID design background is a must. Understanding of RF transceiver system architecture and associated trade-offs is desirable. Having managed smaller design teams is a plus.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Carry best in class RF/mmWave circuit design optimization, participate in tape outs and push the figure-of-merit (FOM) continuously across technologies.

  • Work closely with the global technology teams in bridging the gaps in technology offerings for the above RF/mmWave circuit blocks

  • Work closely with our leading-edge RF/mmWave characterization lab by defining test plans and assist them when required.

  • Work closely with the PDK team in closing the gaps with model to hardware correlation (MHC)

  • Demonstrate GlobalFoundries technology capabilities and PDK quality to our external customers positively influencing business growth.

  • Document designs and results. Write application notes for our client database and publish papers such as IEEE conferences.

    Required Qualifications :

  • Education/Experience: M.S/PhD in Engineering with focus on RF/mmWave Circuits using Cadence or ADS design tools and simulators. This includes schematic, layouts and EM simulations.

  • Attention to detail, learning skills and proactively work in a collaborative environment

  • Years of Experience: MS/PhD with 10+ years

  • Travel Requirements: < 10% of Travel

  • Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal)
