CDR Maguire Accounting Supervisor in Kendall, Florida
CDR Maguire, Inc., a national engineering and emergency management firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and reporting standards. This role will be responsible for recruiting and training accounting staff, assisting in the preparation of payroll records, and instituting disciplinary measures against poorly performing employees. This role will also be able to keep abreast of the latest developments in accounting technologies and software to streamline accounting process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage team in the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting reports and processes.
Analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices.
Identify potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities.
Perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Provide regular updates to management regarding company finances.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures.
Prepare AP reports for trade partners and sub-consultants, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
Post journal entries and ensure the general ledger is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with accounting standards.
Supervise the work of Project Accountants to ensure accuracy, compliance, and the delivery of high-quality financial reports.

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Proven experience working as an accounting supervisor.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
The ability to process large amounts of numerical data.
Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Suite which includes Word, Excel, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
The ability to make decisions.
The ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to deal with high-pressure
Flexible schedule to include late afternoon and evening hours and Overtime and weekends as needed to provide support for safety emergencies or incidents that occur after hours or on weekends
Ability to travel at least 20% throughout the US via plane or car.
Must have a valid active and clear Driver’s license.
Demonstrates the technical safety expertise, coaching ability, and passion for the role
Partners and collaborates effectively to create win-wins with internal operational partners and external partners
Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with the ability to balance education vs. Accountability
