Job Title: Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator with over 5 years of expertise in underground utility work. The ideal candidate will have significant experience digging 16-18 feet deep and shooting grade. You will be responsible for installing, repairing, and mapping underground systems for utilities such as gas, water, sewage, communications, and power lines. A strong work ethic and effective communication skills with other on-site workers are essential. Additionally, the candidate must be open to travel in the southeast with per diem.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, front end loaders, and skid steers.
Dig and trench up to 16-18 feet deep and maintain grade accuracy.
Install, repair, and map underground utility systems including gas, water, sewage, communications, and power lines.
Use power tools and hand tools for pipe laying and other related tasks.
Perform fine grading and ensure proper installation of sewer pipes, storm drains, and trench boxes.
Communicate effectively with other on-site workers to ensure project efficiency.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in heavy equipment operation and underground utility work.
Proficiency in operating excavators and other heavy machinery.
Experience in digging, trenching, grading, and pipe laying.
Ability to shoot grade accurately.
Strong communication skills and work ethic.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with storm drains, trench boxes, and fine grading.
Knowledge of construction and equipment operation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $29.00/hr.
