Bentley Systems Proposal Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a bright, motivated Proposal Manager to join our vibrant team. You will be working closely with Sales and Presales colleagues and sector leads in Transportation & Mobility, Energy & Utilities, Buildings and Communities, Natural Environment and Manufacturing & Mining to manage the production of compelling, high scoring responses to competitive tenders.

Working with technical experts you will be involved in the identification of opportunities to bid and the associated decisions whether to bid for the work. Working as part of a team you will be involved strategic development for proactive and winning bids, including identification of the unique selling points and benefits of Cohesive and understanding and interpreting client-specific requirements.

You will bring to the role knowledge of enterprise asset management / information management in engineering / infrastructure / with an ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels up to CEO, clients and partners/suppliers and subject matter experts to produce winning proposals.

This is a full-time role. Your office base can be any of the Cohesive APAC offices in Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta and you will also have the ability to work remotely.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Your Day-to-Day / Responsibilities:

  • Proactive Proposal Writing

  • Create highly technical responses and written content from scratch, working with technical subject matter experts, such as Solution Architects and Lead Consultants, to convey complex ideas clearly

  • Work with technical experts to understand and write-up proposals to deliver complex and challenging projects

  • Liaising with Regional Sales Directors to ensure alignment with projects of a similar nature or with the same client

  • Collaborate with Services Managers on pricing, technical assumptions and associated terms and conditions for the proposal.

  • Curate, collate and store reusable content in templates, proposals and powerpoints.

  • Bid Management and Writing

  • Coordinate the bid process with relevant Account Managers post qualification stage to prepare for the bid responses.

  • Lead, coordinate, manage and drive the bid process to ensure all the necessary teams, participants and functions contribute to the content, fulfilment and compliance.

  • Collaborate with relevant department to allocate bid responsibilities such as Managed Services and Hosting, finance, legal and technical teams.

  • Working with Account Manager and the client organisation to obtain the information required to compile the bid, including the ability to work with online tendering portals for download of documents and submission of responses

  • Implement an answer planning / draft / finalise / polish process to craft high scoring responses which fulfil the stated marking criteria/scoring guidance

  • Create highly technical responses and written content from scratch, working with technical subject matter experts, such as Solution Architects and Lead Consultants, to convey complex ideas clearly

  • Use existing technical source information, text and draw on knowledge and experience to create first draft responses to tender questions

  • Responding to client and other stakeholders’ queries before, during and after the bid has been submitted

  • Final compilation and proof-read responses and undertake consistency check.

  • Content and Use Cases

  • Involvement with the preparation of supporting materials (e.g., case studies) and presentations that may be required post-submission prior to contract award

  • Researching, writing and/or checking use cases and researching current and future market trends

  • Undertake general project management in relation to generating content, including scheduling meetings, working to programmes, updating trackers, maintaining document control and coordinating within large bid/project teams

  • Be aware of and adhere to the control processes set out within Cohesive’s Certified Management System.

What You Bring to The Team:

  • Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications or recognition of written English achievements

  • Desirable: APMP Foundation Certification; Enterprise Asset Management, Information Management and engineering/construction and associated industry qualification

  • Knowledge / Experience

  • Approx 4 years’ experience of working in a bid environment / proposal management role

  • A very high standard in written English

  • Experience of writing accurate, quality text in a professional environment both independently and collaboratively

  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Word and PowerPoint in particular

  • Experience of managing expectations of internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience with meeting tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment and effectively manage a fluctuating workload

  • Confident communicator and ability to contribute in stakeholder meetings

Desirable

  • Enterprise Asset Management/Information Management or associated industry experience
