What you will do: 0.75 FTE=60 hours/every two weeks 12-hour Day/Night rotation with every 3rd weekend Rotating holiday coverage Occasional on-call coverage for evenings and nights Provide comprehensive care to critically ill infants during transport The transport nurse has expanded critical care nursing skills with expertise in recognizing and intervening in life-threatening emergencies. Job Description: The neonatal transport nurse is a registered nurse who provides comprehensive care to critically ill infants. Using specialized skills, the transport nurse is responsible for the accurate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the infant\'s care in accordance with established medical protocols and through telemedicine/contact with the medical control officer. The transport nurse is responsible for the care of the patient during transport under the direction of the medical control officer (Neonatologist). The transport nurse has expanded critical care nursing skills with expertise in recognizing and intervening in life-threatening emergencies. Major Responsibilities: 1. Participates as an active member of Gundersen\'s Neonatal Transport Team and is responsible for performing assigned duties including a safe working environment. 2. The incumbent of this role will also perform as a NICU nurse in the hospital when not needed for neonatal transport. 3. Manages and cares for critical newborns and neonates less than 30 days of age and infants greater than 30 days of age that still require isolette during transport. 4.
