Job Summary:

As part of the Opportunity To Cash (OTC) IT Team, this Senior Web Application Developer/Technical Lead will partner with business Product Owners, Product Analysts, Platform Architects, Quality Assurance Analysts, Back-office functional teams, and program sponsors to analyze, define, and implement applications to drive transformation for our users.

WorkSight provides selling tools, product selection tools, data maintenance tools, HVAC project management tools and other tools that help users manage the full life cycle of business opportunities from business lead all the way through project execution and closure for our Trane Commercial HVAC Americas SBU. Our tools are transforming into a modern web-based platform to satisfy the needs of our mobile sales force and Trane customers. This individual will provide IT technical leadership & software development for the regular delivery of functionality to the users and will likely work in one (or more) Agile teams, with C#/.NET/Angular/TypeScript code that is developed, tested and deployed to AWS.

This position is fully remote/virtual and will not require relocation.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Partner with business users to understand business processes and requirements, translate them into application requirements, and develop and implement system solutions that improve efficiencies, maximize customer experience, and grow and retain business.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned systems.

  • Provide application enhancements, maintenance, and support for assigned systems, including security and accessibility.

  • Ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-specification delivery of software solutions.

  • Be involved in and provide ideas and guidance in solution design.

  • Conduct and partake in code reviews to ensure development best practices.

  • Mentor new developers.

  • Manage risks associated with program implementation and developing risk mitigation strategies.

  • Communicate with business users within all levels of the organization.

  • Provide 2nd level support/technical expertise to help desk support personnel.

  • Limited overnight travel (approximately 5%) is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and at least 5 years of web development and object-oriented programming work experience (.NET/C#) is required.

Key Skills and/or Competencies:

  • Experience in software development and testing using Agile methodology with remote teams.

  • Experience writing unit tests and robust, maintainable code, adhering to industry best practices.

  • Database & SQL Experience (Oracle preferred)

  • Experience in an object-oriented programming language; These skills are required: C#/.NET, Typescript/Angular, HTML, web services, JSON, XML.

  • Understanding of software development & deployment process, including CI/CD.

  • Very Good written, oral communication skills and interpersonal skills; able to express concepts & ideas with clarity.

  • Able to work in a collaborative fashion, elevates team results over individual results.

  • Able to guide and direct other developers and enforce standards and best practices.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously among changing priorities, prioritizing effectively.

  • Able to translate business needs into system requirements.

  • Project management, time management, planning, organizational and analytical skills are required.

  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, able to function effectively in independent and team-based situations.

  • Work well under pressure and be able to resolve complex problems.

  • A high-level of professionalism is required – including timely attendance and participation in internal meetings and consistent availability during core business hours.

  • Experience with JavaScript, SQL, MongoDB is a plus.

  • PL/SQL, Oracle EBS Suite/R12, ERP experiences are a plus.

Annual Compensation Range is $72,000 to $148,000 annually. Disclaimer : This salary range is based on US national averages. Actual pay could be a result of seniority/experience level, merit and geographic location where the actual work is performed.
