Salary Range : Up to $25/hour (Based on experience)
Position Type : Full-Time/ Temp to Hire
Schedule : 2 nd shift Monday – Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join a Metals Manufacturing team and help cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely with potentially dangerous equipment. Knowledge of different types of metal and their properties is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read blueprints and technical drawings, take measurements, and plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on job requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications
Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding
Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces into position
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead)
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to detect any flaws
Maintain equipment in a safe and operational condition
Supervisory Responsibilities
Proven experience as a welder
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (e.g., TIG, MMA, etc.)
Proficiency in using electrical or manual tools (e.g., squares, calipers)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to wear protective gear (face shield, gloves, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and dexterity
Proficiency in English
Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required
Professional Certification (e.g., AWS welding certificate) is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
CWI or CRAWL certification is highly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
