Sanfilippo & Son, Inc.Job DescriptionJob Title Machine Operator ILocation Lakeville, MNDepartment ProductionReport to Job Title Production SupervisorCompetency Framework Level Individual ContributorFair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) HourlySummary of Position:The Machine Operator I works safely to operate and maintain one machine, and ensures it is running efficiently with minimum supervision.Functions of the Position: % of Time Essential/ MarginalSets up machine-loading and monitors to ensure it is runningefficiently. 50% EssentialFollows work order, quality controls and sanitation proceduresconcerning weights, packs, descriptions, code date, cleanupand changeovers. 10% EssentialPerforms quality control and material waste checks. 10% EssentialDirects/instructs machine line personnel in specific job duties. 5% EssentialPerforms pre-operational checks. 5% EssentialMaintains and exceeds production, quality and safetystandards. 5% EssentialLoads product into hopper. 5% EssentialCleans machine properly after production runs or changeovers. 5% MarginalMaintains a clean, organized and safe work area. 5% MarginalResponsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safeand quality food by following current good manufacturing practices,allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, andregulatory requirements.Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controlsnecessary to ensure food safety and quality.Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues tomanagement.Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, andinformation within assigned team and across functional areas.Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well asprofessional and leadership development.Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures establishedfor health and workplace safety.Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors,reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations as assigned.
