Overview Embark on an HR career in the hospitality industry at The Westin Cleveland Downtown! We're looking for a positive, people friendly and action oriented HR coordinator. Create a positive work enviornment in our office welcoming our employees and handling/coordinating their requests. Will interact with all generalist areas of human resources with the full support of a corporate office. This individual will support all HR efforts including recruiting, onboarding/orientation, employee requests, Workday payroll, benefits and involvement in department activities/employee relations. We believe in mentorship and helping you grow in your knowledge and proficiency in the HR profession! This position is 100% in-person, Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm, remote is not available due to the requirements of interacting with our hotel staff on a daily basis. Responsibilities Assist associates whenever possible with requests and/or information. Attempt to answer associate questions and/or address associate concerns in a timely manner. Assist in the recruiting, screening and interviewing for all management and non-management hotel positions. Assist the Director of Human Resources in directing and instructing the management staff in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques using methods such as verbal presentations and written directions to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified and effective associates. Schedule interviews and process related paperwork. Create and update Human Resources bulletin boards and other posting locations as needed. Attend Monthly Department meetings for employee relations efforts when possible. Distribute paychecks as needed. Maintain accurate and updated department and associate files. Explain elements of various benefits to associates as required and assist with enrollment and claims processing. Assist with associate relations events and recognition, as needed, e.g. Associate of the Month program, Associate Anniversary Awards program, etc. Process benef
