Provider Solutions & Development Forensic Psychologist in Lakewood, Washington

Western State Hospital's Gage Center of Forensic Services (CFS), situated within the historic Fort Steilacoom Campus, is currently seeking a dedicated Forensic Psychologist. We are eager to welcome driven and passionate individuals to join our team and contribute to one of two forensic programs: Competency Restoration (Comp Rest) and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI), both operating under RCW 10.77. As these programs undergo review and evolution, we offer an opportunity for those interested in driving systemic and programmatic enhancements, navigating challenges, and reaping the rewards of their efforts. In either role, you will engage with patients facing complex and diverse cases, applying a trauma-informed care approach. Serving as a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will assume leadership and advisory roles, ensuring the implementation of evidence-based treatment modalities and behavior management strategies. Beyond your core responsibilities, you will find avenues to foster your professional growth and leadership capabilities, including teaching opportunities across disciplines, contributing to policy development, and shaping standards of practice.   • Professionals with a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology

  • Two years of doctoral experience working in an inpatient or forensic setting with a severely behavioral ill population.

  • Consulting with the team and other stakeholders regarding patient care, practices, and procedure

  • Support non-medical and medical clinical staff by providing psychoeducation and appropriate modeling leadership

  • Complete assessments of violence and suicidal risk

  • Implement evidence-based treatment practices

  • Conduct psychological testing

  • Provide court testimony (where applicable)

  • Complete required documentation according to professional, hospital, and CMS standards.

  • Compensation is $137,916 per year

  • The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them.
