Work with students that may be on the spectrum, have a physical, cognitive, or behavioral diagnosis.

Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment that meets the educational, physical, emotional, and personal needs of assigned student(s). Monitoring student's safety, redirect negative behavior, implement de-escalation strategies, and conduct crisis prevention and intervention plan. Toileting may be needed.

  • Hours: 7a-4p-  These would vary based on the school location and student needs i.e. if riding a bus
  • Schools- Throughout Chester and Delaware Counties
  • Days: Monday-Friday
  • Start: August/Sept for the 24-25 school year
    • Possibility  to start in July

Rate of Pay: starting rate is $18+ an hour based on location and experience 

Job Description

We are seeking Classroom Staff to become an integral part of our team! Create emotionally safe spaces in classrooms while also recognizing when a student needs mental health help from outside sources, provide students the necessary academic, social, and behavior skills, while adjusting their teaching to the individual needs of each student in the classroom. PROMOTE A SENSE OF BELONGING IN THE CLASSROOM!

Responsibilities:

  • Assists teachers in the implementation of students' IEP goals
  • Assists in planning and preparation of instructional activities as determined by teacher's lesson plans
  • Observes and addresses behavioral and educational objectives of students in the classroom according to approved procedures, monitors students during outdoor activities as directed, becomes familiar with student IEP goals, and reports progress regarding student performance and behaviors to supervising teacher
  • Escorts students to educational areas, lunch, to/from bus/activities, playgrounds, bathrooms, enrichment, and clinical areas
  • Participates in all program projects and activities
  • Actively participates in team meetings and other pertinent discussions of students IEP goals

*Requirements *

Ø Minimum of high-school or equivalent (Associate's/Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Ø Ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with all team members

Ø Organizational skills to perform duties and responsibilities efficiently and effectively
