Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking a diligent and reliable Groundskeeper to join our team at Sentry Asset Management. The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the exterior areas of our properties, ensuring they are clean, well-kept, and visually appealing. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong work ethic, and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, and watering lawns.
- Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Remove weeds, dead plants, and debris from grounds and gardens.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to lawns, trees, and plants as needed.
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of grounds.
- Clear walkways, driveways, and parking areas of leaves, snow, and ice.
- Inspect and maintain outdoor furniture, fixtures, and amenities.
- Report any damage, vandalism, or hazardous conditions to management.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and snow removal tools.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Groundskeeper or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of lawn care, gardening, and landscaping techniques.
- Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field.
- Experience with irrigation systems and pest control.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
