Description

Position Summary:The Mechanic is responsible for work relating to the maintenance of the A/Z fleet vehicles, equipment, small tools, and facilities.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Operate motorized and light equipment such as hand and power tools, pickup trucks, forklifts, etc.

  • Conduct inspections of fleet vehicles for cleanliness, safety, organization, and branding

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance service on all fleet vehicles and construction equipment

  • Order and collect vehicle parts from vendors, or coordinate the delivery

  • Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, etc.

  • Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools

  • Install or replace machinery, equipment, and the associated parts/instruments using hand or power tools

  • Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed; track recalls, DOT annual inspections, and warranties for all vehicles

  • Coordinate drop-off and pick-up of vehicles for service

    Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers

  • Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality

  • Interact with all co-workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner

  • At times may perform clerical/administrative duties

  • Participate in site housekeeping

  • Display a mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting repairs

Qualifications

Required Skills /Training Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • Gas and Diesel Engines

  • Ability to perform DOT Brake and annual Inspections

  • OSHA 10
