What Youll Be Doing The Stormwater and Environmental Compliance Coordinator is responsible for providing task leadership and technical guidance for implementation and compliance for the Town of Leesburg Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program, the Chesapeake Bay and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) programs, Town of Leesburg ordinances, as well as applicable state and federal laws. This position requires a high degree of professional engineering judgment and technical civil engineering and regulatory experience in the fields of stormwater management design, inspection, maintenance, and flood control.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science/Management or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) certifications to include Stormwater Management Combined Administrator
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in storm water management, MS4 permitting and/or stormwater management/operations experience
  • Possession of a valid drivers license and a safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering/Management, Environmental Management, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) certifications to include, the Dual Combined Administrator (DCA)
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in storm water management, MS4 permitting and/or storm water management/operations experience
  • Spill response/HAZMAT training and experience, NASSCO training and NIMS training for 100, 200, 700
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
